This blog is dedicated to the seemingly impossible task of restoring my beloved 1965 1200 VW Beetle affectionately known as 'Gretchen' (registration GBH 208C). I am working out of my home garage in the city of Bristol located the South West of England. 
 
I should emphasise that I have no prior experience in the field of restoration or metal fabrication and very little mechanical knowledge. However, I am very resourceful, thorough and tenacious! In writing this blog I hope to feel less isolated and daunted by this undertaking whilst providing moral support to anyone out there who is brave enough to be doing the same!
